For best viewing experience in Klash, we generate proxies based on the video you upload. This ensures that every supported video file will be playable for any user on any browser.
On Klash, it’s possible to get instant availability on any uploaded file without transcoding. If you upload a file compatible with Fast Track, the file will be instantly playable as soon as the upload is finished.
See the compatibility table in Input container/file Formats for files marked as “Fast Track”.
When HD proxies are enabled in your project, Klash will decide which quality based on the input file. We will never upscale video because it may degrade quality, so the HD proxy chosen is always equal or lower than the input video resolution and bitrate.
As an example, if you upload a 1080p video, an equivalent 1080p quality level will be created, but no 720p proxy since we only generate one HD proxy. If you upload a 720p video, only a 720p video will be created.
Following similar logic to the HD proxies above, we will also generate a single SD proxy at 480p.
Proxy levels | Resolution | Bitrate (kbps) |
---|---|---|
1080p | 1920x1080 | 6780 |
720p | 1280x720 | 3520 |
480p | 854x480 | 2000 |
360p | 640x360 | 1150 |

¹ Dynamic proxies are generated based on the input file by reading the resolution and bitrate of the uploaded file and using that as the transcoding parameters.
